Malabrigo Point Lighthouse
Malabrigo Point Lighthouse stands on the eastern headland of Lobo, Batangas, above the Verde Island Passage. Built in the Spanish colonial period and declared a National Historical Landmark, it is still an active aid to navigation and still has a Coast Guard presence.
What is actually at Malabrigo Point?
A stone tower, an attached brick keeper's quarters, and a working light on a headland with a clear line of sight across the Verde Island Passage. It is the most recognised structure in the municipality and the reason most first-time visitors come east from Batangas City at all.
The complex is a survivor. Most of the Spanish-era lighthouse network in the Philippines is either ruined or rebuilt beyond recognition; this one retains its original masonry and its original function at the same time, which is rare.
Can you go inside?
Not reliably. The station is manned and access depends on the Coast Guard personnel on duty. Several travel posts state confidently that entry is free and open; that is not published here until it has been tested at the gate on a dated visit. The grounds and the point itself are the part you can count on.

What is the shoreline below the point like?
Pebble. Smooth grey stone, steeply shelving in places, not the white sand that generic images of Batangas suggest. This matters if you are planning a swim, and it matters more if you are planning a photograph, because the stone at Malabrigo is one of the more distinctive things about the site.
