How to get to Lobo, Batangas
Lobo is reached in two legs: a bus from Manila to Batangas City, then a jeepney east over the coastal road to the poblacion. There is no direct service from Manila. Total journey time is about three hours outside peak traffic.
What is the route from Manila to Lobo?
Take any Batangas City bus from Buendia, Cubao or PITX to the Batangas Grand Terminal. From the terminal, transfer to a Lobo-bound jeepney. The jeepney follows the coast road southeast through Sawang and lands you at the Lobo poblacion. From there, tricycles and habal-habal cover the barangays.
The whole trip is straightforward in daylight. It becomes difficult after dark, because the second leg stops running long before the buses do. Plan around the last jeepney, not the last bus.
What are the current fares and trip times?
The table below is the structure of the answer. The figures are not filled in, because nothing in it has yet been checked standing at the terminal. Rows are marked pending rather than populated from older published sources.

When does the last trip leave Lobo?
Pending, and deliberately so. This is the figure that strands people, and it is the one most often wrong online. It will be published only after it has been confirmed from the drivers working the route, and it will carry the date it was confirmed. Until then, treat late afternoon as your practical cut-off and arrange a private vehicle if you need to leave in the evening.
Can you drive yourself?
Yes. The coastal road from Batangas City to the Lobo poblacion is sealed and passable to an ordinary car. It is a mountain-shoulder road with sea on one side for much of its length, so it is slow and worth doing in daylight the first time. Fuel is easier to take on in Batangas City than in Lobo.
Where do you go once you arrive?
The highest-recognition destination in the municipality is Malabrigo Point Lighthouse, a National Historical Landmark on the eastern headland. The build log lists what else has been surveyed so far.
Questions
- How far is Lobo from Manila?
- Roughly three hours by road in normal traffic, in two legs: a bus from Manila to Batangas City, then a jeepney over the coastal road to Lobo town proper. There is no direct Manila to Lobo service.
- Is there a direct bus from Manila to Lobo?
- No. Every public route goes through Batangas City. Anyone offering a direct Manila to Lobo bus is describing a chartered vehicle, not a scheduled service.
- What time is the last jeepney out of Lobo?
- Pending. This is the single most important figure on the page and it will only be published once it has been confirmed from drivers at the terminal, not from a blog. It is deliberately left blank until then.
- Can I drive to Lobo in an ordinary car?
- Yes, to the town proper. The coastal road from Batangas City is sealed. Road condition beyond the poblacion toward the upland barangays is being surveyed and will be published per barangay.
- How do I get from Lobo town to Malabrigo Lighthouse?
- By tricycle from the poblacion to Brgy. Malabrigo, then a short walk up to the point. The fare and whether it is quoted per head or per vehicle is pending field verification.
- Why are the fares blank?
- Because they have not been checked in person yet. Published fares elsewhere online date from before the last fare revisions. A blank cell is honest; a stale number is not.
